Koochiching Privacy Notice

Information Provided Directly

Search queries entered into a search feature can be passed to the third-party provider serving that feature. Messages sent through a contact method may include the sender’s name, email address, and the content provided. Do not include sensitive court, medical, financial, or identity information in a message unless it is required by the official government office receiving it.

Automatic Technical Data

Like many websites, the service and its vendors can receive technical information such as browser type, device information, IP address, pages viewed, referral address, approximate location derived from IP, and the date and time of a visit. Cookies and similar tools can remember settings, measure traffic, reduce misuse, support advertising, or help a search partner operate.

How Data Is Used

Information can be used to operate and improve the site, respond to messages, maintain security, measure use, show or measure advertising, and process a search request. The site does not control the government data held by Koochiching County, International Falls Police, Minnesota courts, or Minnesota DOC. Requests for those official records are governed by the responsible agency and Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, Minn. Stat. Chapter 13.

Outside Links and Partners

Links can send visitors to official agencies, courts, corrections systems, search partners, or other outside services. Those sites have their own terms and privacy practices. A link does not mean that this site controls the recipient’s data handling, accuracy, availability, or future policies.

Who May Receive Data

Service providers, search partners, analytics vendors, advertising networks, and vendors that support site operations may process limited data for their services. Information can also be disclosed when required by a valid legal order, to protect rights and safety, or to investigate misuse. Data is not sold as a Koochiching County government record.

Security Practices

Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to reduce unauthorized access, but no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. Do not rely on this site to transmit urgent information or official record requests. Use the Sheriff, court, police, or corrections channel that owns the record.

Children

This service is not directed to children under 18. It does not knowingly seek personal information from children. If a parent or guardian believes that a child supplied information, they may request review or deletion through the listed contact method.

Your Choices and Updates

Visitors may ask about personal information they have submitted, request correction of a contact detail, ask for deletion where applicable, or opt out of nonessential cookies through browser controls. Some data must be retained for security, legal, accounting, or operational reasons. This Privacy Notice can change as services or legal requirements change. The current version is posted here.
